The Dallas Mavericks defeated the shorthanded Portland Trail Blazers 125-112 on Friday night. Luka Doncic had 32 points and 10 assists for the Mavs, while Dante Exum added 23 points off the bench.
Portland was without three starters, including Kyrie Irving, who injured his right leg in the second quarter. Irving fouled Dupree Reyes under the basket and fell to the ground. Dwight Powell accidentally stepped on his foot, forcing Irving to leave the game.
Anfernee Simmons led the Trail Blazers with 30 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Shaedon Sharpe added 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Portland.
Dallas led throughout the game, leading by as many as 19 points in the first half. Portland rallied a couple of times and even cut the Dallas lead to one point in the second half, but could never break through.
